ISSN 0001-5555 Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is a fibrohistiocytic tumour of intermediate malignancy characterized by slow infiltrative growth and a high tendency to recur locally. Pigmented DFSP, also known as Bednar tumour, is a rare variant of DFSP and accounts for up to 5% of all DFSPs. DFSP occurs predominantly on the trunk, back and proximal extremities, with 12–15% of the cases localized in the head and neck region (1). When the lesions are located near critical facial structures, standard surgical therapy with a wide margin is impractical for cosmetic and functional reasons. We describe here the successful treatment of a pigmented DFSP on the nasal root with CyberKnife radiosurgery.

Recurrent Dermatofibrosarcoma Protuberance and its Management with Radical Excision and Interval Skin Grafting: A Case Report
Dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans (DFSP) is very rare tumor of dermis layer of skin with the incidence of only 1 case per million per year. DFSP rarely leads to a metastasis (Less than 5% have metastasis), but DFSP can recur locally. We publish a rare case of a recurrent dermatofibrosarcoma protuberans and its management with radical excision and interval skin grafting.
متن کاملCyberknife radiosurgery in treating trigeminal neuralgia.
PURPOSE To assess the short term efficacy of Cyberknife stereotactic radiosurgical treatment of trigeminal neuralgia (TN). METHODS 17 consecutive patients with medically or surgically refractory unilateral TN were treated with Cyberknife radiosurgery. Using superimposed CT cisternogram and MR images, the target segment of the trigeminal nerve was consistently defined as a 6 mm length of nerve...
متن کاملStereotactic radiosurgery as a primary treatment modality for pineal parenchymal tumors
Background: Pineal parenchymal tumor (PPT) is extremely rare and histologically heterogeneous, and the optimal treatment strategy is controversial. This study examined clinical outcomes of patients with PPT treated with cyberknife radiosurgery (CKRS) as a primary treatment modality after tumor biopsy. Materials and Methods: Between 2009 and 2018, there were six patients diagnosed with PPT who w...
متن کاملSuccessful Treatment of Eccrine Porocarcinoma Metastasized to a Cervical Lymph Node with CyberKnife Radiosurgery
Eccrine porocarcinoma is a rare type of skin cancer that originates from eccrine sweat glands or acrosyringium and mainly occurs in the elderly. In this report, we describe an 85-year-old Japanese woman with eccrine porocarcinoma that metastasized to a cervical lymph node who was cured with CyberKnife radiosurgery. Because our patient had a high risk of perioperative complication, standard surg...
متن کاملMultisession CyberKnife Radiosurgery for the Treatment of Advanced-Stage Intracranial Extended Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma
Background: A case of a large advanced stage juvenile nasopharyngeal angiofibroma (JNA) treated with combined temporally and volume fractionated CyberKnife radiosurgery (CKRS) is presented. The optimal modality for treating advanced JNA continues to be controversial because of the complications associated with surgical resection and the potential delayed morbidity of radiotherapy (RT) in a pedi...
